Bringing professional drift driving back to Wall Avenue, the Young Automotive Group’s three Ford dealerships will host the second installment of their RTR Drift Demos on Sept. 10 from 6-9 p.m.
“We’re thrilled that this event has become a staple part of our identity,” said Jake Talbot, general manager of Young Ford Ogden. “These vehicles are designed to do incredible things, and we’re thankful that we get to show people their capabilities in a unique way. We look forward to engaging with the community, and providing them with an experience like none other.”
Held in partnership with the manufacturer RTR, the organizations will bring renowned drivers to a course built in the sales lot of the Ogden dealership. Stunts will be performed throughout the evening in both custom vehicles as well as models like the Urban Bamboozle Mustang.
To add to the festivities, Young Ford will also provide four lucky individuals with a chance to ride with one of the drivers. Those interested can enter on the event’s webpage, and earn extra entries by donating $10 to the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation.
“This is one of my favorite elements of our event,” said Kory Martin, general manager of Young Ford Brigham City. “There are few experiences more unique than riding shotgun with one of these drivers. Plus, the proceeds from extra entries go to causes that benefit our communities.”
Apart from the drifting, Young Ford will carry on their First Responder of the Year giveaway tradition during the event — providing a firefighter with a cost-free, one-year lease on a new 2026 Ford F-150. Partnering with the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation, the truck will be raffled off and awarded on site. The winner must be present to receive their prize.
The seventh annual installment of the giveaway, previous recipients have included detective Cody Wright — who won last year — and firefighter Stephanie Fischer.
“A community where children and families can thrive draws strength from impactful first responders,” said Kellee Belnap, executive director of the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation. “We’re grateful for the partnerships we’ve established to give back to the Ogden area, and for the opportunities we have to recognize people who continually make a difference.”
The Young Automotive Group’s three Ford locations officially became dealers for RTR, Shelby and Black Widow trucks in 2024. This year, they added Hennessy Performance to their inventory. Vehicles from each manufacturer will be displayed on-site at the drift event.
“These vehicles have significantly changed the customer experience at our dealerships,” said Mike Mendias, general manager of Young Ford Morgan. “The audience for high-performance machines is massive in Utah, so these units regularly turn heads in sales lots. That’s only going to be amplified by what we’re doing on Thursday.”
