Layton, UT – April 8, 2024 – Aiding suicide prevention efforts within our community, the Young Automotive Group’s Audi Layton location will collaborate with the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation to host their second annual Hope Squad support event on April 13 from 1-4 p.m.
Held at the dealership’s facility on North Main Street, the event will feature photo booths, yard games, face painters and prize giveaways. A coloring contest will also be conducted, providing contestants with a chance to win a Nintendo Switch or a Stacyc e-bike.
“We’re excited for this opportunity to benefit an organization that we believe so much in,” Tami Olsen, the executive director of the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation said. “The Hope Squad is incredibly important for youth in our community, and the work they do is invaluable in helping children improve their mental health.”
The foundation, Audi Layton and Young Volkswagen have collected funds for the participating Hope Squad chapters, which will be donated during the event. Groups such as Davis Behavioral Health and SafeUT will also set up booths at the dealership to demonstrate proper mental health practices.
“I think anyone can see the value in efforts that prevent suicide, but they may not always know how to help people with their personal struggles,” Olsen said. “This event is a great way to learn about the steps to take and who to reach out to when you or a person you know is facing issues related to suicide.”
Along with the festivities, attendees will be provided with refreshments from Krispy Kreme and Little Caesar’s Pizza.
This year’s event falls on the Young Automotive Group’s 100 year anniversary. Founded in 1924 by Jack Olsen, the company has grown from one location in Morgan, Utah to a 29 dealership operation that’s spread across Utah, Idaho and Montana. The Young Automotive Group also recently celebrated the grand opening of their new headquarters on March 29, finalizing the completion of a 145,000 sq. ft. project.
Audi Layton joined the Young Automotive Group in 2021, along with Young Volkswagen and Young Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Layton. All of the company’s dealerships work with the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation to deliver on their commitment to community and engage in philanthropic efforts.
“Audi Layton is an incredible partner to work with,” Olsen said. “Their team is dedicated to community efforts and they actively participate in our events. They truly showcase the commitment the Young Automotive Group has to people.”
This event is free and open to the public. Both the foundation and dealership have said they plan to keep the initiative an annual event.
