Hey YAG Family,
Last month, we were honored with the Community Impact award from Safe Harbor Crisis Center during their Evergreens benefit gala on Nov. 14.
The award — which was accepted by Young Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Layton’s general manager Jacob Sobers — primarily acknowledged the Davis county dealership’s efforts during a February initiative called Stuff our Truck Beds. While carrying out the project, the location joined forces with customers, employees and community partners such as the NPS store and Sleep in Heavenly Peace to donate toys, appliances and 30 beds to survivors of domestic violence at Safe Harbor’s facility.
“This event supported our organization and brought opportunities for collaboration, community engagement, education and with any Young Automotive event, fun,” said Todd Hixson in a letter to our company, the executive director of Safe Harbor. “Young Automotive Group’s contribution is not just about the physical items provided, but about restoring self-empowerment and providing a foundation where families can rebuild their lives.”
The community impact award adds to others the Young Automotive Group has received for our philanthropic endeavors in 2024. At the beginning of the year, Young Caring for Our Young was recognized as a finalist for the Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce’s Nonprofit of the Year award.
Charitable efforts of other local dealerships from across our company have been recognized by other organizations as well, including Young Powersports XL Centerville by Powersports Business magazine and Young Subaru by the National Auto Dealer’s Association.
Throughout 2024, the Young Automotive Group has celebrated 100 years of business. Founded by Seldon “Jack” Olsen in Morgan, Utah, our company has grown from a single location to over 30 operations across three states.
To increase our community involvement, we founded Young Caring for Our Young in 2007, which has provided various areas, school foundations and other nonprofits with over $6.5 million.
“That’s one of the things I love most about my job is that I’m encouraged to engage in giving back to the community,” said Sobers. “Partnering with Safe Harbor was a dream of one of our employees in our group, and when she reached out to me to be a part of it, I just knew we had to have an impact on these families that would be lasting. The Young Automotive Group’s never just concerned about the bottom line. We strive to make the places we serve better in any way that we can, and that’s what makes celebrations like this so meaningful. We can change a child or family’s life one event at a time.”
