Bringing together a staple community of car enthusiasts, Young Volkswagen will stage their first-ever Volkswagen Autofest car show at their dealership on Aug. 16 from 12-3 p.m.
The event — which will have food trucks on site — is expected to feature notable Volkswagen vehicles from across northern Utah. Attendees will be able to look through submissions and collect swag, with kids able to enter a coloring contest. The show’s best machine will receive an award from the dealership as well.
“We’re excited to see the incredible entries that arrive,” said Wallace Rogers, outbound call specialist at Young Volkswagen. “Volkswagen’s not only known for building era defining vehicles, but for their community of owners that make stunning alterations to their cars. This could be one of the most unique car shows of the summer.”
Only Volkswagen’s will be featured in the competition. Those making a submission can fill out an online form. Day of entries will be accepted as well.
One of the Young Automotive Group’s over 30 franchises, several of Young Volkswagen’s sister operations have staged significant car shows within the past year. In September, Young Ford Ogden hosted their Bronco Bash event, which brought together enthusiasts of the SUV. Young Collision Center held their Car & Bike show as well this April, collecting donations for Ogden High School’s automotive program.
Acquired in 2021 by the Young Automotive Group, Young Volkswagen shares a service area and lot with Audi Layton. Aside from the car show, the dealerships will be sponsoring a separate charitable event later this year.
“One mission that each of our dealerships have is to rally communities together and engage with people outside of the showroom,” said Wallace. “We like to do this in ways that are authentic to us. Beyond just being vehicle sales and service experts, we’re enthusiasts, and we like to add to the incredible culture in our area.”
