Grand opening ceremony introduces Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Riverdale to Weber County

Marking their arrival into Weber County, Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Riverdale hosted a grand opening celebration at their dealership on April 24.

The event — which featured food trucks, games and RC car competitions — was attended by executives from the Young Automotive Group as well as local community leaders. Innovations director Oliver Young began the ceremony as the emcee, and introduced a list of speakers that included Riverdale city council member Alan Arnold, Broderic Braegger from BoosT for Therapy and Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce president Chuck Leonhardt. Following these addresses, attendees gathered for a ribbon cutting.

“It was an honor to have the community come together with us to celebrate this moment,” said Jacob Sobers, general manager of the franchise. “During our short time here, we’ve already begun to witness what makes this area special, and we’re so excited for a future where we have opportunities to continue making an impact in this amazing city.”

Those present were invited to walk through the building and network. To add to the festivities, the Young Caring for Our Young Foundation engaged with attendees to assemble 300 pantry packs — providing local children in need with two days worth of food and snacks.

The meal kit effort adds to other charitable endeavors Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Riverdale has overseen since their arrival. In November, their staff partnered with Young Caring for Our Young and local businesses to deliver holiday meals to families facing financial hardships. The dealership has also sponsored several programs and organizations in the area, such as Bonneville High School’s athletic department, Fremont High School’s soccer team and Box Elder High School’s car club.

“What made this acquisition interesting was that we already had a reputation on this street,” said Sobers. “Young Subaru has been a philanthropic force in this area since 2011, and Young Mazda Ogden has done so much to support education and families facing hunger. We really wanted to put a stamp on how we give back, and we’re starting to make a difference because of it.”

In addition to hosting Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Riverdale’s grand opening, the Young Automotive Group recently acquired a third powersports franchise in Montana named Young Powersports Honda Yamaha. The dealership marks their thirteenth in the Young Powersports family.

“Our celebration here isn’t centered on opening a new dealership, but beginning a new chapter,” said Curtis Groft, vice president of the Young Automotive Group. “For over 100 years, we’ve made our relationships with communities more than transactional. There are several places that sell cars, and what makes us different isn’t our facilities, but the people we have in our locations. We’re proud of the Riverdale team, and excited for what’s to come.”
