Opportunity by Berton Braley
With doubt and dismay you are smitten
You think there’s no chance for you, son?
Why, the best books haven’t been written
The best race hasn’t been run,
The best score hasn’t been made yet,
The best song hasn’t been sung,
The best tune hasn’t been played yet,
Cheer up, for the world is young!
No chance? Why the world is just eager
For things that you ought to create
Its store of true wealth is still meager
Its needs are incessant and great,
It yearns for more power and beauty
More laughter and love and romance,
More loyalty, labor and duty,
No chance – why there’s nothing but chance!
For the best verse hasn’t been rhymed yet,
The best house hasn’t been planned,
The highest peak hasn’t been climbed yet,
The mightiest rivers aren’t spanned,
Don’t worry and fret, faint hearted,
The chances have just begun,
For the Best jobs haven’t been started,
The best work hasn’t been done.
As you read this poem….and I think poetry can inspire and add depth to a persons reality, what can you think of as your opportunity? Go for it. Opportunity is everyday, every moment, all around you.
Make BIG things happen and take advantage of the new Opportunity that is upon you. You are not to YOUNG, you are not to OLD, Things have not past you by…..you are JUST RIGHT. Take advantage of all the good around you and make good things happen with the opportunity all over and all around.
Love ya all,
sysr
Great Counsel from our Great Leader!
I love the dashboard! It is always so inspiring! Keep them coming 🙂
I also wanted to add that I am also hesitant to get deep into vintage. It just seems like it could be so crazy-making to hunt everything down. For example, modern Arpège is one of my favorite, perhaps very favorite, perfumes. If I try vintage Arpège and don’t enjoy the modern anymore, where would that leave me? I don’t know if I want to go down the vintage rabbit hole! Or swallow the red pill. Or whatever.
