I have really enjoyed a book I have been reading called “Good to Great” and I would recommend it for your reading. I have been taken by a certain concept of management or focus for management called the hedgehog concept. You will need to read the book to get the full story but they mention in a particular chapter of companies or individuals that want to go from good to great some of the things they need to have and things they need to focus on.
One of the qualities that makes a company or a person great is “Passion”. Passion is defined as a powerful or compelling emotion or feeling that drives or motivates. It is a strong affection or enthusiasm for an object, concept or achievement. It is fervor and zeal. So whatever your position, whatever your job is today you need to have Passion for what you do As you do your job with passion, people will respond, people will notice, customers will love you for it and you will go far. This goes for individuals as well as the company. Can you imagine if everyone in the company was passionate to have the company succeed at the highest level what we could accomplish? We would exceed all expectations and we would exceed all peers and everyone from customer, employees, associates and vendors would all feel the lift of extreme success. So one of the keys to extreme success is having passion for what you do and for the company you work for.
Develop the key or maybe I should say the art, skill or talent of having passion. It works.
