A secret…..Pen and Paper
I am going to let you in on a several important secrets. (Pen and Paper handy?)
One of the most important things you can do to help a day or create a day is to have some inspiration, intuition, anticipation or vision of something that needs to be done in the near future or someone that needs attention or needs your help.( Pen and Paper handy?)
Everyone is seeking direction on what needs to be done, what needs attention, what are the priorities, or who needs to be assisted. (Pen and Paper handy?) Each one of us has something very unique to you and only you. It is your personal intuitional thought. Some people call it intuition, some call it inspiration, some call it anticipation, some even call it revelation, none the less you have it. You were instilled with it. It is already in you. (Pen and Paper handy?)
Are you ready for the secrets?
It is important to catch these thoughts because they can be very elusive and fleeting. Before you can capture them you forget them because of so many distractions every moment of every day. So here is Secret number one; you get this inspiration all through the day and sometimes when you least expect it and sometimes it’s early in the morning. Secret number two; You must capture these thoughts by having a Pen and Paper handy. I know….you millennials may think, “hey, I don’t need no sticking pen and paper, I have my phone.” Here is where you may go wrong. These thoughts come and go so quick you may miss them if you don’t have them down before you are on to the next thought. So, my advice is take out a piece of paper every morning and keep it by you and capture these thoughts as they come. Don’t wait…..they flitter away. I remember my Grandpa Jack Olsen use to keep a tiny little note book in his chest pocket and he would jot down the intuitive thoughts throughout the day and I think this was a small piece to his success. You might keep that pen and paper by you all day long or you might keep it by your bed or in your breast pocket or somewhere close. Don’t minimize these secrets…….You have the intuition, the inspiration and the revelation you need for your job, your family, your friends, for projects Big or Small. Yes, you can accomplish more, you can help or save someone, you can create something and do great things if you just jot down your intuitional thoughts and then Secret number three; you need to take action on them and incorporate them into your day. You need to plan to do them if they are going to make a difference. You have the thoughts come to you, you have to capture those thoughts, Then you need to take action on those thoughts and intuitional promptings.
There I just gave you secrets that most do not know and almost everyone will not do. Pen and Paper handy?
Have a great day and thank you for all you do.

(Let me know what you think, I love to hear your thoughts and learn from you.)
Love this. Thank you.
If the (Millennials) use their phones to take notes on for this inspiration they can be easily distracted by the incoming messages and habitual button pushing of social media. Therefore, making the inspiration quickly disappear. Just thought I would add. Thanks for the thoughts.
Thanks for the great insight! And I’ll keep a Pen & Paper handy. Goes great with the Thank you notes also.
I love this!
It has always amazed me how fleeting thoughts are.
I do my best to write these things down, my downfall is I always leave my notebook somewhere so I end up with little notes over 100 pieces of paper scattered around.
I guess I need a smaller notebook to fit in my pocket. Always room to improve.
Thank you for your insight, I always enjoy.
Thank you for the inspiration. I love it. I’ve been working at incorporating notes into daily activities for a couple of years now. It’s still a work in progress but has helped significantly.
Each one of us has something very unique to you and only you. That is my favorite line. Thank you very good read.
In hoc signo vinces, “In this sign you will conquer” or “In this sign thou shalt conquer”.
Great article, that’s what we were taught. Have a pen and paper handy. It still works today.
Thanks Spencer.
Spencer, I have done this my whole adult life, well actually even back to high school when I had to come up with creative stories for collage prep English! These ideas are truly quiet and very fleeting, but they make the most profound impact! Thank you for do this as well! Roger
This is great insight to success. Note to the millennia’s, just in case you don’t want the pen and paper avenue. There is an app on most phones that is called “voice memos”. When you have one of these thoughts, pull out your phone. For me I will stick with the pen & paper method. Thank you for these valuable secrets…
Love this quote.. In this sign you will conquer
but also these thoughts are so true with how crucial it is for us to physically write down our thoughts and experiences. If you look at some of the most successful people in World History, they always had journals and from them we are learn from them and their experiences. Also I know in my life I look back at my journals and am able to learn from my past experiences….
hence the power of the pen…
This line rings true with me! “Before you can capture them you forget them because of so many distractions every moment of every day”. Everyone gets distracted in their day so this is a great reminder to write down your thoughts and act on them. It is an important part of growing in our careers and everyday life!
Just taking time to develop that thought is a luxury these days!
I love your thoughts. I do always have a pen and notepad readily available, as I’m not a millennial 🙂 Now I just need to remember to jot things down! Thank you.
Thank you, great thoughts!
Love the thought. I started doing this about 3 years back and have always kept a good moleskin notebook and it has changed how I work. Now I have a place to capture those Secrets. Love this message! Thanks
If I don’t write everything down, I’m toast!! This really is the thing that helps me most! Now I need to figure out how to get a waterproof pen & paper for those shower thoughts and inspirations. 🙂
Spencer–
Great thoughts, and soooooooo true. We live in a world where so much is competing for our attention. It’s one thing to capture the thoughts (wish it wasn’t so hard), it’s another entirely to then DO SOMETHING. Loved secret #3: “Secret number three; you need to take action on them and incorporate them into your day. You need to plan to do them if they are going to make a difference.” Saw a bumper sticker once that said “IF NOTHING CHANGES, NOTHING CHANGES” Thanx so much for sharing. Let’s all go try and “DO!!” : )
