Pleasant View, UT – June 16, 2023 – After buying the winning raffle ticket at the Utah High School Rodeo Association finals, Jordin Brown picked up her new Polaris Ranger at Young Powersports Pleasant View on June 15 at 1:30pm.
Growing up with ties to rodeo, Brown and her husband frequently attend association events. With her niece and nephew competing, Brown bought five tickets from both family members during last week’s events at the Wasatch County Event Complex in Heber City, Utah.
“My nephew was the first one to call me and I didn’t believe him for a long time,” Brown said. “Then we got really excited.”
With prices at $10 per ticket, proceeds from the raffle went to scholarships for the association’s athletes. According to Young Powersports, the raffle brought in over $70,000.
“We definitely love to give back to our communities,” Young Powersports corporate trainer Nick Faulkner said. “If we can put forth a few bucks to help these kids get to college, it’s awesome for us.”
Young Powersports has sponsored the Utah High School Rodeo Association for over a year. On June 10, winners from the finals were selected with students like bull rider Cooper Jacobs, pole bender Kayla Thurgood, barrel racer Morgan Beckstorm, tie down roper Chad Reber, steer wrestler Tad Williams, goat tyer Samantha Donovan, bareback rider Tucker Blackburn and breakaway roper Kadence Martin taking home state titles. Saddle bronc riders Cooper James and Hayz Madsen as well as team ropers Ryder Winn and Brit Bradford won state championships also.
