I went to a Opera this past week. "Les Miserables" at the Ellen Eccles Opera Theatre in Logan and those actors and singers were astonishing, amazing and down right jaw dropping great. It made me think…….
At the Juilliard School of Music they found that the "elite" musicians had practiced 10,000 hours, the "good" musicians had practiced 8,000 hours, and those who might become music teachers had practiced 4,000 hours. This principle applies to all areas of life and careers, hockey players, mechanics, salespeople, writers, and every other person. Those who put in 10,000 hours of practice were among the top at what they did. As a matter of fact, they are in the process of becoming their best.
What are you doing to be the best in your field?
How much are you devoting to practice?
Do you know how to practice for your career? (You better find out)
Be the best….work on those 10,000 hours.
Make BIG things happen,

If you do what you’ve always done for 10,000 hours, you’ll become an expert…
The suggestion that practicing can make you a master (or, at the very least, improve your performance) works both ways. If your focus is directed at progression, you’ll move forward. The same is true for regression. Concentrating on negative thoughts and behavior patterns will undoubtedly hinder your progress.
Determining which habits to rehearse and which ones to reverse is crucial to the success of this exercise.
I agree completely! Practicing something generally refers to performing some kind of action, but every action we do or do not perform started with a thought. It’s important to remember that your thoughts play a huge part in any success or failure you have.
10,000 hours on personal development, becoming a better person in work and personal life is a doable number. Keeping that great balance between work, personal life, being a hard worker, a good spouse, a good brother, friend.. and spending 10,000 hours to become better in all those areas is an excellent goal.
I like to do some pre-practice before I actually practice. By seeing what others in the same industry are doing new techniques reading information on new technology ect. After that Implementing the practice working on experimental ideas that can fail with no repercussions. Practice is great and when its used to progress it makes being in the game so much more enjoyable.
