Being accountable is an important key to success!
Anyone can steadily grow into becoming their best as they choose to be accountable and accept responsibility for continuous improvement.
The commitment to be accountable is a commitment to act. You commit to your core to achieve the outcome no matter what. As Yoda says, “There is no try, there is only do.“
This is a good reminder that we’re faced with daily decisions which give us a choice: do we accept responsibility and move on, or do we allow something or someone else to take control of our thoughts and emotions?
Blame, criticize, & complain = The Opposite of Accountability
“Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain and most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding.”
“Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain and most fools do. But it takes character and self-control to be understanding.”
Carlyle wisely said,
“A great man shows his greatness by the way he treats little men. Instead of condemning people, let’s try to understand them. Let’s try to figure out why they do what they do. That’s a lot more profitable and intriguing than criticism, and it breeds sympathy, tolerance, and kindness.”
The obvious benefit is that complaining will slow down and eventually stop. The less obvious but even greater benefit is that you will save time and focus your thoughts and communications on positive topics and outcomes. The time spent complaining will become time spent achieving positive things.
When you stop complaining or blaming, you take control of your life. A burden is lifted and it feels like a breath of fresh air. No one else can control your destiny. It’s up to each of us to determine our response to challenges.
Be Accountable and make BIG things happen.
Have a great day,

I particularly like the line,
“A great man shows his greatness by the way he treats little men.”
“Little” can mean quiet, shy, of lesser status.
I always try to thank the Walmart clerk for being there at 4:00am, or the convenience store clerk for working on the holiday, or the janitor for making things look so clean. It’s a small act that has a big impact on those who don’t normally receive such thanks.
Another quote that reflects on how our actions can have big consequences is,
“The boys throw rocks at there frogs for fun, but the frogs die for real.”
I like your comments. sysr
I love this article! Our thoughts become actions and our actions become results……
Think positive thoughts- do positive things – get positive results!
It’s the YAG way!
