A little history of the Young Automotive Group and other things. I think looking back at history is an indication to the start of the rich Culture you are all apart of and help to live, create and grow.
We use to produce a quarterly magazine called “Olsen’s Chevy times.” This comes from the June 1973 edition.
In the forward of the magazine it showed the personnel at the time and here is the introduction:
“Mr. Olsen opened a dealership in Layton in 1946. He has been an Olds-Chevy dealers in Morgan for over 30 years. His philosophy is: to provide the best service possible, the best prices for the customers, yet realize a reasonable profit. Sam Young has been with the company for over sixteen years and is a resident of Layton. Kent Murdock has been a member of the company for over fourteen years and resides in Clearfield.
Also listed was a promise:
“Try our Service department.
We claim to be GOOF PROOF.
If we fail, you receive our Goof Proof check,
good for a free lunch.
We give them if we fail:
1. To make repairs properly
2. To be courteous
3. To have a car ready on time
4. To charge properly

I also have an ad in the Newspaper during July 1971.
A brand new Impala Retail $4965.40 and the special price $3999.99
1971 new Vega $2284.30
I just thought you might find some interest in the history of that day.
How about this note of ancient history;
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, the LDS Church was, you could say was one of the first Mega dealers in the country called Consolidated Wagon and Machine. They had Ford in 1904, Buick and Franklin in 1908, Oakland, Velie and Columbus Electric in 1912 in 60 communities in 4 states.
There ya go…..a little history and culture from the Young Group of the past.
Enjoy your day and strengthen our rich culture.
Make BIG things happen.
Thank you for all your hard work and efforts.
