Our 2nd annual JULIE’S CLOTHES FOR KIDS event was a success!
2020 has been a crazy year, but it didn’t keep us from helping 150 kids in need! It involved masks, taking temperatures, constant cleaning, and lots of hand sanitizer, but we did it safely and we made a difference because of our wonderful employees, partners, and community.
Our volunteers buddied up with 150 kids from the Cassia and Minidoka county school districts to buy shoes, socks, underwear, and clothing. They also received new backpacks filled with school supplies, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and pantry packs, along with coupons for meals at our sponsoring restaurants. Kids were chosen by their districts because their families lack the resources to provide basic essentials to start school.
We had nearly 300 volunteers that included YAG employees, sponsor and donor employees, Walmart employees, community leaders, neighbors, and friends. We had 19 great sponsor donors, and as you can see from the sign, we also had great financial support from numerous individuals and families.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a resounding success. We are grateful for your support and generosity, and we are already looking forward to next year’s event!
