Because of the generosity of our Young Mazda team and our amazing community and partners, we were able to collect supplies to safely assemble and donate 400 backpacks to homeless kids in Davis and Weber county. It was truly a community effort, and the outpouring of support we received was overwhelming! There are over 1200 homeless children in the Davis School District alone, so there is huge need for donations. Each backpack contains a warm blanket, sweatshirt, hat, gloves, socks, a scarf, and personal hygiene items. Many of the scarves and hats were handmade by our Young Caring for Our Young crafting club and their families from 20 dealerships across the Young Automotive Group in Utah and Idaho. 300 backpacks were delivered to the Davis Education Foundation at the Clearfield High Teen Drop-In Center last week and will be distributed to Davis County High Schools. The remaining 100 backpacks will go to Weber and Ogden City Schools this week. Because of the generosity of everyone involved, we were also able to donate additional clothing, backpacks, and much needed famine hygiene products to the YCC this past week as well. We live in such a great community filled with kind and generous people who want to make a difference.
