Good morning to you all.
Just a thought for the day or rather giving you something to think about.
Can anyone define for me the word “Apeirophobia”
I would like to see if someone can define that and tell me what it means and what do you do about it.
That should get you thinking for a minute or two on a restful and hopefully peaceful day.
Thank you all,
sysr
Apeirophobia is the fear of eternity or things lasting forever. In the work setting I would submit the only way to overcome this fear is to be forced to step out of your comfort zone, experiencing something new and supposed dangerous. For example making a telephone call to a stranger to come in and buy a car. When a person that is suffering from Apeirophobia is forced to experience this and it begins to be a habit the symptoms will slowly go away. They well not go away without a manager/leader working with them in a controlled environment.
Things will last forever if one does not accept or initiate change.
Taking action with change to me is the antidote to business apeirophobia.
Like said in the movie Moneyball, ‘adapt or die’.
Fear of the Infinite or boundlessness. What I picked up out of this is that sometimes the amount of choices, opportunities, possibilities, competition, or concerns paralyze us and we end up doing nothing. To avoid this we can remember that Rome was not built in a day, and that small deliberate and relentless movement in the right direction will lead to large things.
Nothing lasts forever, nor should it. Change and the evolution thereof is the essence of life. Adapting, embracing, seeking “change” keeps us fresh and allows us to feel (and remain) alive. Perhaps there are those that fear change and others that fear not changing. As it relates to our business, I subscribe to not being afraid … of taking risk, thinking outside of the box, embracing new ideas: change. How boring life would be without change! No morning after an evening; no dinner after lunch; no need for a new car or truck; no seasons; no personal growth. Change at a pace that is personally comfortable is the required balance …
The concern of infinity or a feeling of disconnectedness or rootlessness. We have Strong roots here at ‘Young Automotive Group” we are all connected sharing the work that makes us all successful.
Well, I don’t fear the car line Infinity, Maybe something on the horizon? Number’s are infinte, also not afraid.
“Apeirophobia” -WINTER…..my fear
I am not scared of eternity or things lasting forever. I am scared if there is no eternity. We are very lucky to have the opportunity to be here. Enjoy, make sure the people you love know how much you love them, make the most of every day. Some day it will be your last. What a beautiful place we live in. I can’t imagine living in a 3rd world country. The number one thing I like about young is it is all about associates, customers and each other. Have a great day.
